To Craft or not to Craft...?

Just like the Spring bulbs, Craft Fairs are beginning to shoot up everywhere. Gardeners choose their bulbs carefully to suit the soil and conditions and Crafters do something similar when choosing which Fairs to attend.

Sometimes through trial and error and also by word of mouth, Crafters, internally, grade the Fairs on offer for the forthcoming season, checking back through their previous sales to see the items customers favoured on the day and who else braved the cold and damp early Fairs.

Is the Fair a ‘Makers Market’?, indoors? …crucial in the early part of the season when the sun isn’t yet strong enough to keep your extremities warm on an early Spring Sunday from 10am until 4pm; does it have good foot fall?, does the increasing cost of the table space justify the venue?, and will like-minded Crafters you have shared the space with before be in attendance, helping to keep morale high, as potential customers appear to disappear in to the thin cold air?

So, as the 2025 Craft Fair season approaches and just like all keen gardeners, I will be busy preparing for the season. So, look out for a flourishing Wildfish Crafts at a Fair near you! It is always so lovely to see smiley customers ‘old’ and new….it keeps me going 😘
